Have any of you guys ever used Multi-Seal tire sealant. How did it work? They also make a product called Hydro-Seal. It's designed to work in calcium filled tires. I have a 530 JD that I put new rears and tubes on just 1 1/2 years ago and have sprung a very slow leak with some calcium coming out at one valve hole. It's starting to rust already at the valve hole. I just repair welded the valve hole areas on both rims before I put the new rubber on. I don't want to let it get any worse and thought that it might be a lot less hassle and possibly cheaper to install the sealant rather than to have the calciun drained, dismount tire, and repair tube etc. Does anyone know what a 5 gallon bucket of this stuff costs? I checked a couple of distributors web sites but they didn't show any pricing, so it's probably pretty expensive, but it may be more cost effective/less aggravating over the long run if it also prevents future leaks as they claim. Wonder if you could use the Hydro formula in tractor fronts containing just air? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

What is the tractor used for? Many times a tractor gets fluid installed in the tires becasue pappy and Grand pappy put fluid in all thier tractor tires. And the application really doesn't require fluid which just burns more fuel and cuts crop yields with soil compaction.

i dont think you can run the tire sealant in a fluid filled tire. if you have a tube leak, you are gonna need to drain and dismount the tire and either patch or replace the tube. wash the rim good with plenty of soapy water , then rinse with clean water to get the salt out. i have been coating the inside of my rims with two coats of por-15 rust conversion primer. seems to work real well.

According to Multi-Seals website the Hydro-Seal is for use in loaded tires. The tractor is used for primary and secondary tillage, loader work, and bush hogging 8 acres of tillable ground. I think filled tires are justifiable. The biggest problem I see is that since the tires are tubed, there is not that much "meat" in the tube wall for the synthetic fibers that do the sealing to get a hold of as opposed to use in tubeless tires. When I break down the tire next time I will use the POR-15 treatment. I'm just looking for a quick fix this time, but I know that's not necessarily the best course of action in most cases.

I recommend replacing the tube with a brand new one and forget about calcium chloride. The John Deere 530 is, as I recall, a 5000 pound well balanced tractor and it doesn't need any fluid in the tires. Even some of my friends who are into pulling don't use it anymore. They're too afraid of busting a tire and spraying bystanders although I remember taking an unexpected bath with it about 45 years ago and it apparently didn't hurt me. Physically anyway.

I have used regular multiseal. I thank its one of the best sealers.
would like to be able to use hydroseal with rim guard. they have not answered my email yet.
rim guard won't destroy the rims.
