Farmall M Sputtering problem

I have a 1946 Farmall M and i can start it no problem with no choke but i go off and bring the throttle up fast and it will start to sputter. and i also pull with it. i put it in first at full throttle and let off the clutch and it will sputter once and clear out. even after being warmed up. im thinking points and condenser... any other ideas???

That condenser does really really offer those symptoms.

You might also check for restrictions in the gas tank and screen and line.

Can't hurt to take a look at your plug wires and just see what the plugs put out for a spark.

Make sure you got the full amount of battery voltage at the coil if there is no in line resistor (only if converted to 12 volt??)

Assuming your advace works,a dn points are gapped right, then I'd look at the carb main circuit.. might need to enrich it a lil bit.

I hate to give advise without hearing the engine run but It sounds like a Carb problem to me.

Sound like the fuel delivery problem my Farmall M had. Cleaned the tank and carb screen and fuel line it fixed the issue ................
