cultivating corn

Had some corn under water The ground is hard now.Do you think it would help to cultivate it?Thanks
 
Yes. that ground is so wet and packed that your nitrogen is tied up. By cultivating you will get nitro moble and it will prevent cracking if dry weather persists.
 
North Carolina has high humididy and it was my fathers belief that fresh culivated soil absorbed moisture during the night.He would recultivate for that reason even if it did not rain since the last cultivation. CENTAUR
 
Cultivating will allow air (oxygen ) in and the corn will respond quickly . You should see a change in color within a couple of days. All that water has sealed the ground and is preventing air from getting to the roots.
