Thought I"d inform other tractor enthusist. I ordered a steering wheel for my tractor from SSB Rentals, Inc, located in N.Y., after the part arrived I discovered fairly quick the wheel did not properly fit, so I turned to my parts manual once again and called a dealer to ensure my part number was correct, it was. SSB shipped me the wrong part so I contacted them and after explaining my delima I was told I would have to ship the incorrect part back to them, at my expense, and I would be charged a 20% re-stocking fee. Something here does not make much sence, I have to cover the expense and be charged 20% because they shipped me the wrong part? Guess the steering wheel is now a paper weight. As you can guess I will not be a returning customer......
 
I had the same thing happen from polks only without the restocking fee.They charged me $13 bucks shipping when i recieved it.The recturn shipping was $6 dollars.
 
if you bought by credit card stop payment on the it. You chould be able to send it back via UPS or USPS and stipulate that the sender pay the freight. I used to sell some stuff on Ebay and I always shipped anything with the buyer to pay the shipping charges upon receipt or the package so I know they can do it. If you stop payment on the part and send it back this way you pay nothing and they either have to pay the shipping to get their part back or eat everything which is what they should do anyway.
 
try contacting them again. Sometimes you get someone who does not totally understand the problem. If you get the same answer try to see if there is someone else you can talk with. Above all, hold your temper and be nice. (this is the hard part foe me at least)

It is hard to imagine a company with that bad of coustomer service still being around or lasting long.
 
If you paid by credit card, you have some options, but you will have to advise the vendor in writing and get his reply before the credit card company will get involved. Just went through that routine.
