Just a few pics I took while spraying yesterday and today. Lots of things going on now that the weather has finally let everybody get into the field. I think there are a few beans left to be planted but most everyone has moved on to spraying and making hay.

I started spraying beans today. All this wet weather has got the beans and weeds off to a good start.

I'm not sure who this is but it is he was doing some custom baling.

This is a young neighbor helping out doing a little hay raking for his dad.

These last pictures are a field of canning pumpkins. 80% of all canning pumpkins are raised in IL and most of them are under contract with two canning companies withing about 40 miles of here and this farmer usually grows a field of pumpkins. It is interesting and I'll try to get some pictures of harvest this fall. They arent able to use much for herbicide so they will get very weedy. They were cultivating them today. The dust in the very last picture is a tractor and cultivator running off in the distance. Its hard to see from my pictures but there could easily be 120 acres of pumpkins in this field.

I think that's awesome that you see tractors and pass tractors, at least there is a little action and sightseeing going on!

Crops look good, glad your able to get back out in the fields, around here we have the corn sprayed once, got to get some N put down next week and then spray one more time. Just got some heat this week so corn is only a few inches tall and beans only an inch or so. Alfalfa just starting to get cut around here. Nice pictures.

I had a neighbor roll up my hay last week with one of those new NH balers with the net wrap. Boy what a bale they make! Hard to stick the bale spear in them.

Actually, squashes make the best "pumpkin"- I don't recall the variety name either, but they are a light orange, with bumpy exterior and more the shape of a Hubbard squash. I think they're a squash-pumpkin hybrid.
