I had asked a few days go if anyone could tell me where to find the serial # on my IH and you responded with asking for a picture. So here are a few.

I THINK that is an F-Series Farmall, which would date it probably in the 1930s era. There should be a serial number tag riveted to the support bracket for the fuel tank. Bring the information from that tag back to us, and we can help you further.

(Photo is kind of dark, so it's hard to be completely accurate. If you have some better lit and closer pictures, it may also be a help.)

Sure looks like a Farmall Regular to me. I can just about make out the open gear steering above the front pedestal. They were made from 1924 to 1932. Serial number tag is located on the left side of the transmission housing.

Open steering gear= Regular, 1924-32. Serial plate should be on back side of tool box, or on clutch housing below tool box.

Hard to tell for sure from the pictures. The exhaust manifold is from an F-20 (exhaust out the top, the exhaust on a regular is to the side just above the frame rail), but what I can see of the steering gear looks like it might be a regular. Entirely possible someone changed the manifold somewhere along the line.

A regular would have a brass "mixer" carburetor, but it looks like whatever carburetor this one had is gone. Is the transmission 3 speed or 4 speed? 3 speed = regular, 4 speed = F-20 (or F-30).

Without something to compare the size against, its hard to tell, but it might also be an F-30. The F-20 & F-30 look a lot alike, but the F-30 is bigger overall. An F-20 or Regular will be about 5 feet tall at the top of the radiator. An F-30 is taller, probably around 6 feet (going from memory here, I'd have to go to the son-in-laws house to measure an F-30).

The serial number plate should be riveted to the back of the toolbox under the gas tank. If its gone, look on the top of the left frame rail just ahead of the radiator & below the air cleaner. The serial number should also be stamped there.

More/better pictures would help. You'll need a serial number or casting numbers to date it.

Hope this helps.

Keith

Are you sure the number on the data plate isn't "T-90008"? That would make it a 1930 Farmall Regular. Neither the regular nor the F-20 serial numbers went as high as 190xxx.
