Need help with 2010 JD Diesel Engine!!!!!

Looking for some help troubleshooting rebuilt engine that wont start. Seems to be in the fuel system. Im out of Ideas, Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!

It's a pretty simple diesel system and not any different than anything else with a rotary pump. Ford, IH, AC, Hercules, etc. used the same basic design.

2010 was the first Deere tractor to ever use the Stanadyne rotary pump. It is gravity fed fuel. So, if it's getting fuel too it, and it's in "run" position, and no fuel is coming out of it - you've got a pump problem.

Keep in mind the 2010 is indirect-injected and MUST have working glow plugs to start. It also needs the hand-primer working in cold weather unless you've got a good block heater.

That pump, like all Stanadyne/Roosamasters built up to year 1985, has one plastic part that falls apart internally. Someone that knows what they are doing can fix it in a few hours.

yes the 2010 just won't start without glow plugs.

And don't touch that either can unles you want to do another rebuild.
Dont even bother with your JD guy that wants $100 each for the glow plugs, you can find them (exact same ones JD sells you) on ebay for $25 each.
Are you holding the glow plug button for 1 full minute before trying to start like the manual says?
warm engine = 30sec
above 32F = 1 minute
0 - 32F = 2 minutes
below 0F = 3 minutes

About the only other thing is like jdemaris says with that plastic part in the injection pump.

You also have to have a good battery and starter to get it spinning fast enough. I did a 1010 that we cranked on forever and wouldn't go. Finally put 24 volts to it and it finally went. The glow plugs are absolutley necessary though.
