hesston 1090 mower

I am looking at a used hesston 1090 mower conditioner. I have always had new holland hay equipment and am asking for any feedback good or bad concerning this mower and how well it performs for any of you with experience. I am a small part-time farmer with some cattle and about 50-60 acres of hay to cut and need something that is dependable as most of my work is from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. It appears to be in good shape and has been kept inside. Also would be interested in what you all think is a fair price for this machine. Thanks for any feedback you can give me.

They cut alright, but do not condition the hay as well as a properly-adjusted NH. Check the reel drive chain and sprockets on the right hand side. (under that big, ornery shield, if its still on) Also check the frame around the gearbox. We got rid of ours after it started (repeatedly) cracking there. That was't our first Hesston, but it was our last.

We had a 477 New Holland, now we have a 1091 Hesston. We had fewer problems with the NH and it always cut cleaner.
