O/T Old Water Drilling Rig?

I have a old spuder water drilling rig that was used 20 years ago powered by a 1939 chevy motor on the rig. It can drill 6" or 8" up to 300'. It's mounted on a rough 1937 IH truck that has not ran since the late 60's I'm going to scrap all of it soon unless you guys think that it's worth more than scrap? Both motors are stuck now, But the rig could be used if it was powered by a PTO of a tractor or another motor. It's just junk to me. What do you guys think?

What looks rough to you might just look like a gem to someone else. Figure out what the scrap value might be, add a hundred bucks, and offer it for sale. It would be quite a novelty at shows.

My dad had a rig on a 1930 IH with 6hp fairbanks-morse engine. Dad died me in milt. grandfather scraped the whole lot. Save it or let someone else do it!

Dont you dare scrap it, if you were in my area (Northern NY), I'd take a look at it. Those old pounders just keep on going, I know of several 50 or 60 years old still just keep on goin'. It probably wouldn't take much to get it going. The rig can be slid onto a newer truck or a trailer, if the truck is too far gone to fix up.

Take a bunch of pictures, and put it up on EBay, with a starting price $200 higher than the scrap value. See if it goes anywhere.

a machine or truck is never to far gone.

DONT SCRAP IT...........

THAT IS THE REASON WE DONT HAVE MORE OF THE EARLY TRACTORS AND STEAM ENGINES

Its yours scrap it if you want. IT may be a lot easier than trying to haggle and sell it to someone. Most people wont offer near as much as its worth as scrap. You said its just junk to you. Turning junk into cash aint a bad thing. But if someone is willing to buy it for scrap price or a little more then sell it to them.

Thanks Guys,
It's in east central IL. I'd guess it weighs around 5 tons total. It would be hard to get good pictures of it, The weeds are over 4ft back where its at now.

mike,
I'm north of Casey IL. Interstate 70 runs right by Casey in eastern ILLinois. It would be 350 miles or 5 hrs 30 min. from you.
