Can anyone tell me about this Jacobsen turf mower I posted in Help id? Tag says 60 5313.
It has a two cylinder horizontally opposed Kohler. I was told it was a mower used to cut the roughs at golf course. Engine appears to be ok. Good mower? Can you find parts? Weaknesses?
Thanks, James

Which "Flat-Twin" Kohler. KT-17, KT-17 series II, KT-19, KT-21? I do not have ANY experiance with the KT-19 or 21 But if a KT-17 you want the series II. It has a fully pressurized oiling system. The plain KT-17 does not. The other engines MAY have this differance but I do not know.
I have a KT-17 series II I used to repower a Gravely 812.

Is the deck in the middle and you kind of sit over top of it? Jacobsen made a "Commercial 60" model in the late 60's/early 70's. My dad sold them and doesn't know why they stopped making them. They were a good unit. If it's newer it might be a Turfcat 60. Jacobsen used Kohler engines a lot but I'm not sure if the Turfcats used them. I'll look in the help ID if you have a picture. Dave

It is in fact a Commercial 60. I've only ever seen one of them before but if I remember right they were pretty stable for mowing on slopes. Don't know how hard parts would be to get but a lot of stuff might be common with other machines. Check with a Jacobsen commercial dealer. Dave
