I am investing in a glass bead cabinet , and would like your input. I will be using it for medium sized objects (pistons, carburetors, small sheet metal,etc.). Witch one would be better glass beads, or sand? also what do you think thoes cabinets will run on 80psi,90? Finnally ( sorry for all the questions ) witch one do you think I should get , Im leaning to the clarke one, but it says sandblast cabinet, so would glass beads work in it? thanks--craftsman

It's not so much the pressure, it's the Cubic feet per minute and the tank size.

If you have a little 25 gallon air compressor with only 4 hp, that thing will never keep up with the blaster.

Have a Clarke like that one.Need a good size (I have 80 gal)and alot of cfm's to keep up.

Also,I plumbed in an old shop vac to keep the crap from flying out.The cabinet has an air filter, but doesn't work well by itself.Hook the shop vac hose at the air cleaner hole on side.

I prefer beads or the more aggressive (can't remember the name)media.Beads seem to shatter on sheet metal.

I used glass beads in mine. Also,,,max 40 psi ,or it shatters the beads leaving you with hoper ful of dust . Lower pressure , beads last lont longer . Not much better cleaning with higher pressure. You need LOTS of volume !
