Hows things looking for you guys ? Hope you have enough high ground for your cows to keep there feet dry . I know you said the other day your house and barns were safe . When ya watch the news they only show ya the worst . Hang in there , were all thinking about ya .

Ok here is the scoop.

Most farm ground is very soggy around here but still above flood level. We got another 3" or so of rain last nite.

The heaviest flooding is down stream from the dam in Iowa City and Coralville cause the water is going over the spillway and that ain't suppose to ever happen.

I have about 10 acres under water now above the dam (corn ground). My pastures are on higher ground as well as all the buildings. This is all from the Iowa River.

The flooding in Cedar Rapids is from the cedar river and there is no dams on the cedar.

The railroad bridge that went down in Cedar Rapids is causing water to back up a little deeper above it.

I 80 is closed were the Cedar River crosses it down stream from CR.

Just watching it on FOX and they showed the water running down the streets of Cedar Rapids . Said it will start to go down today . Glad your not in the worst of it .

The flooding is just incredible. The crest is supposed to be today, or tonight ,,THEN they said it could be 10-14 days before the water starts to receed . YOu cannot get ANYWHERE around here ! it's 2 hours just to try to get across town . I live in Marion , east of Cr . Theyt closed Hwy 13 , 30 has watere running over in places. THey were going to close 380 , but dot stepped in and said NO ,,one lane only open to public . Water is in danger of being shut off today . Lots of power stations down . Indian creek is across the street from our house. It came out of banks big time yesterday . No damage to us ,,but neighbors had basements full . Sandbagged quite a bit . Two buddies in Cr have houses underwater . It's hard to imagine how much water . Right now it is 12 feet HIGHER then it was in 93 . What a mess

You folks in Iowa and anywhere else that is dealing with this flooding thing are in my thoughts and prayers I can't think of too many things worse than watching everything you've worked for and memories made float away or ruined but the sun will shine soon and life goes on. I've got a lot of extra things laying around here so if you folks need anything just post them here and I'm sure most everyone on here will see what they including myself can come up with afterall we're brothers and sisters in this thing called life. God Bless, CT
