Ok guys, I'm electronically challenged. When the switch comes in Feb. will you have to have cable for the tv to work with or without the converter box? How do I get a coupon for the box?

They are telling us that if we are hooked to cable, we need do nothing-cable company handles the conversion so I can view it. If you are getting your signal off of rabbit ears or roof top, then you need the converter box. Greg

You need the box only if you have an antenna, cable or satellite is already digital. We have satellite, but the local stations are not available on satellite and require the old style antenna, we will not be able to receive them without the box (or a new set).

P.S. The tv I bought in Jan. is both digital and analog, but we're not on cable and don't want to be. We have rabbit ears here in Dallas and an antenna at the farm.

If the tv is digital and analog, the antenna will work fine. I just bought one myself. When you set it to automatically find stations, it will find both now. Then you can edit which channels to watch. digital is awesome. Rick in Hill Co. Tx

I got a couple of the converters. You just run the antenna into the input on the converter and the output of the converter to your ant in on your TV and tune the tv to ch 3, the converter has it's own remote. I get about 6 more channels now.
