Diesel Fuel solution

Just now saw this on the morning news, Our Presidents solution for the truckers and the high cost of diesel is to burn gasoline. I could not make this up, it was flashed on the tape on the bottom of the screen. If this was said in jest its not funny, if it was sincere, well........

You're kidding, right? Was he talking about just burning gasoline in the current trucks, or retooling the fleet with gasoline engines rather than diesel? Of course, both alternatives are ridiculous, but kind of on different levels.

OH JUST IMAGINE!! Big petes running around, getting 1.5 mpg with twin big block supercharged V8s for a "V16," Oh man, the "less" fuel we would use.... yeah right MR BUSH.

I wonder if after nearly 8 years of Bush if anybody still thinks he was EVER a sharp tool? This news flash should give people an idea what kind of idiots are giving news broadcast to we the people on a daily basis.
What a joke.

Only problem is that there are so many people that believe him. Clueless about what the he!! goes on around them. Both canada and the u.s should get a real president/prime minister. The fact that that gas comment came from a man running a country is kind of scary.

And you watch this crap on TV and believe it to be gospel truth?

I don't believe Bush would say something like that. If the news is "flashing" it at the bottom of the screen, I wonder what exactly he really said - and how much it was taken out of context.
Maybe it makes people feel better to put the blame on someone like Bush - I'm not one of them.
Sounds pretty childish to me. He's stood his ground on several issues - some that I agree with and some that I don't. But he pretty much stands by his convictions regardless of ever-changing public opinion - and I get kind of tired of hearing our president constantly get blamed for anything that goes wrong - and never get credit for anything that goes right. On top of that , he's only one man and not a dictator with unchecked powers.

I also know this - Bush is no idiot. Yeah, he's lousy at public appearances when reading scripts. To the converse - external_link can ONLY read scripts - and otherwise he utters almost pure nonsense.

On the subject of gas being used in big trucks. I was working for a trucking place in the 60s and we still had a few gas big-rigs. A couple of cab-over Fords, a few Brockways, and maybe a few I forget. They worked - just ate more fuel and didn't last as long as our Macks and Autocars.
And, at that time diesel was cheaper than gas.

I could see in a national emergency - if diesel was in short supply - but we had ample gasoline - to use it for transporting essential goods in a pinch.

Last I heard, we have a democratic-controlled Congress that was going to address these energy issues quite some time ago - and nothing has improved. In fact, not even one viable idea has been proposed.

Fuel prices have skyrocketed all over the world. I suppose George Bush caused the gasoline prices to double in Italy, France, India, and Malaysia?
If so, he does pretty good for a "dummy."

That realy fits his abilities. Bet when we run out of bread, he will say to eat cake. And some still think he is not dumb.

The democratic congress don't have enough members to pass a bush veto proof bill unless they can get a few republic ans on their side. So they don't really have complete control. Most of the bills they did get thru weasel W vetoed. But its natural the majority party always takes the rap.

The nnalert cannot beat a Bush veto without the help of a few nnalert.Bet you cant guess whats most likely to happen this fall?Even if McCain wins,he will probably have a nnalert congress.Same as now, nothing will get done.Stalemate, low wages, high inflation, rerun of the 70s,with high gas and food prices, less and less jobs.It would be better potentially to have external_link President so something can get done, and we can move forward instead of sliding down in this same old rut Nixon dragged us into in the 70s.
