International 454

Last winter finally convinced my wife that we need a decent loader tractor. The Ford NAA and backblade just isn't enough to dig through 5 foot snowdrifts. Got a chance to buy an International 454 with a 6 foot hydraulic bucket. I've looked through the archives and I can't find much on them. Anybody know about them? Good points, bad points?

You got a good little tractor . I bought one when I was 16 and paid for it plowing gardens and custom hay baling with my uncle . I cant remember having a dimes worth of trouble out of it other than leaving the rubber on the road . A 5 gal. can of gas would go a long way too , wish I still had it but I wish I still had all the tractors I`ve had and sold or traded . Take care of it it will take care of you . It`s part of a long line 54,74,&84 they did`nt change alot cause they had a good thing going . I have a 574 , it`s a good line and tough .

Thank you. It looks like a good little tractor. We'll find out this winter when the entire 1/8 mile long lane is drifted shut. (Lord, I hope not again.)

My Uncle had one in a diesel. It was better than good. it was a great tractor. 40 to 45 horse power. power steering, with a loader. Power enough to run a decent sizes 6' snow blower.
Great allaround tractors.
Bruce.
