ford steering box

I'm trying to get back together the double pitman arm steering box for my 801 ford with very little success. I have a manual but it doesn't seem to help much. What's the trick??

Paragraph 8, in the I&T fo-20 manual ( covers 00/01 series ) explains STEP BY STEP how to put the wormshaft in. center the ballnut, then insert the left sector ( more teeth ).. etc.. etc.. middle tooth on left sector gear into middle groove on ballnut.. right sector.. mesh 4th tooth with 4th groove on the left sector.

This is 100% 'cookbook' style instructions.. can't get it wrong if you just do what it says. These boxes rebuild just like the late 8n and NAA boxes.. nothing to reassembling and re-timing them.

Also.. you might have got more and faster and better responses had you actually posted this in the FORD board.. vs the generic 'tractor talk' board.
