Co-op axle help

Co-op guy

Does anyone out there know enough about the early Co-op tractors (duplex #2) to be able to tell be where the rear ends came from? Thanks!

The old Coop tractors are not the same as the Cockshutts. The tractors built before 1947 in the Cockshutt line are rebadged Olivers and the Coop was it's own line. Now 1947 and up the Coop and Cockshuts are the same. And the tractor he is talking about is probably a 1930's tractor

I"ve mislaid my CO-OP notes, but I"m pretty sure that that far back they were all supposed to be Dodge Truck rear ends, variously described as 2Ton or Heavy Duty Dodge Truck rears. If you have any casting numbers, or if it"s apart any part numbers, you can check with a Dodge Truck dealer to see if they"re CCptn part numbers.
Some later ones, I believe the St Paul/Minneapolis ones, had some New Process rears, as I recall.
And, yes, the Duplex ones would be mid to late 30"s, depending on which version of CO-OP history you go by.
There"ll be a wealth of posts in the archives on the original CO-OPs; one might mention rear ends.

Still haven't found my CO-OP notes, but I think the Minneapolis-St Paul-South St Paul CO-OPs using some New Process rears were the "Farmers Union C0-OPs"
