Anyone have an older ('88-90) Chev or GMC speedo calibration chip for back of instrument cluster? Ya know, the ones you plug into the cluster after changing tire size. You break off certain pins per a formula.I think they were used 3 years if memory serves.

Replacing a cluster assy for a guy.Used one came from a 4X4 and is goin' in a 2 wheeler.Part # no good at the General.Used my last one from the kit 'bout 10 years ago. Email open.

Thanks!!

Wasn't allowed to do that when I was turning wrenches. Something about it being against the law to tamper with any speed-o-meter whatsoever.

Every repair had to authorized, certified and stamped by a qualified/authorized service outlet.

We sent ours along with all the necessary paperwork to Downtown Radio in Denver. Usually took three days via UPS overnite.

The stuff you need is available. Do a search on the chevy off road forums, or just google or yahoo search for "speedometer calibration" and I bet something shows up that you can use. It's real common to have to do that when guys put bigger tires on the 4x4 pickups.
