Hay season starting, New discbine!!!!

Well, we finally got to use that new discbine that we have walked around in the machine shed all spring. Mowed the first hay of the season yesterday. WOW!! Ya gotta love the discbine. wonderfull machine. NH 1411, hooked to 4440 deere. What a upgrade from 489 NH and 806 farmall. Mowed about 30 acres, in different parcells. Was running about 7-8 mile/hr in big fields, slower in the small patches. That discbine could run A LOT LOT LOT faster than that, but i dont know if i can!!! My advice to anyone getting a haymower, BUY A DISCBINE, IT IS WORTH IT!!!!

Got disgusted with my NH 488 haybine after we had a storm and blew down a bunch of ryegrass/oats. My NH dealer was able to find me a new 1410 discbine. Have so far used it on about 30 acres. that is a hay eatin machine!

We have run a discbine since they came out. Now almost everyone uses one. Currently been through 3 411's and on the 3rd 1431. That 13' is a monster but really takes a big horse to run at full capacity. 180 horse is just enough in first cutting. Max speed... slow enough that you can stay in the seat and slow enough the cuttin header stays on the ground most of the time! Usually about 8.5 mph. No plugs ever. Love em!
