Tractor driver problems

I know its kind of off topic. I"ve got two twin 12 year old boys who just about have a knock down drag out fight over who gets to drive there uncles 4630 JD. It"s kind of comical to hear all the stuff thats drug up from the past about how the other one got to drive this or that or do whatever. I do my best to make things fair but somtimes it is overwellming. They just love doing all this tractor/farm related work. Hope when they grow up they reflect back on these times. Corn did get planted here on Sunday in southern IN.

All you can do is get another 4630 and take full advantage of your enthusiastic labor pool!!

Make sure they're well supervised! A friend of mine lost a 13 year old son. He thought the kid was ready to solo with a 4020 and an 18 foot disc. He wasn't.

Beleve me they will remember......dad bought the second farmall M when i was 12......he told me it was mine.....don

Without going to the expense of double equipement, They each get 1 hr in the cab or what ever time needed can be divided by 2. That keeps it fair. If it becomes to much of a hassle then nobody gets seat time. Some times you just have to put your foot down and say that is the way it will be.

A great problem to have. I've got seven tractors, including several big ones and they would all rather watch TV or play on the computer.

My first "SOLO" experience I was probably 10, on my grandfathers M&M U pulling a disk. No power steering, and a rear entry tractor with no cab. I liked being able to stand up and drive sometimes on that tractor. A few years later he got an M&M G-1000 with a cab. I REALLY LOVED DRIVING THAT ONE!!!

Yep you gotta take advantage of that free labor, at almost 5 bucks a gallon for diesel. When they get to be my age with a girlfriend and school, you'll lose em. Im 16 and haven't spent near as much time in the field this year as past years, I got that thing called a drivers licence this winter. Yep with all the FFA activities and my lovely girlfriend I aint got time to work ground. but i find time. I've been working off the farm haven't got home before 9:00 at night since about a month ago, off today. Going to go run corn accost the road here.

Get a second seat for the tractor, naw, scratch that, lap is much better place, and take the girl with you on the tractor.

Nice tractor. Dad put me on the TO-30 Ferguson when I was 5. It was a mile to the back field and he was walking back to bring the other tractor until I drove it. I don't reccomend it but I survived. My Mother did not know this was going on.Good luck with the twins.
