Just went outside and looked at my MF-35 and it has a 4 bolt retainer just like Ford.....familiar with the Ford which should be similar.Drain the fluid first. MF uses a single cavity for tranny, hyd, and diff so you will have to collect roughly 10 gallons of oil. Removing the 4 bolts holding the retainer which supports the shaft should allow you to pull the shaft straight out the rear. May need to help it along if it has been in there for awhile which is probably the case. It should be sealed to the housing with a large O-ring which will become visable as the assembly is removed from the tractor. On the shaft should be a snap ring (inside)and the shaft support bearing should be jammed up against it. On the back (outside) of the bearing, on the shaft is a collar which the seal rides on and is pressed onto the shaft keeping the bearing up against the small snap ring. If this collar is not holding the bearing against the small snap ring replace it as any lateral movement of the bearing up and down the shaft allows for the PTO to disengage under load. The bearing is held to the retainer by a large snap ring. Removing it should allow you to remove the bearing and shaft and give you access to the rear of the seal. Then it"s just a matter of knocking it out and pressing (hammering) in a new one in from the rear. A new O-ring on the retainer and back in she goes. Don"t forget to replace the oil or reinstall what you had if it is clearish, not milky and yellowish or just plain dirty. Mark
