Were there a lot of tractors that used wood? I assume these were after the war.

There were not too many here in England but in Europe they were popular for a time, usually during the war when fuel was scare in Germany and other countries. You do not see many in preservation as most were converted back to petrol or petrol/kerosene during the late 1940's and early 1950's.
