I have a 1940 john deere h that the snap ring that holds the pulley on broke. Anyone know what the jd part number is?

Looks like two snap rings in that vicinity, A1401R is a larger one and A378R is the smaller one.

Here is a direct link. They call it a a ..Non-
sectionalized.. because you are looking basically at pdf
copies of the books the dealer would use. Newer
tractors have actual computerized sections with key
numbers you click that take you to descriptions and
prices to be able to put the parts in a cart to purchase
to ship to a dealer or wherever. On those older ones
you have to search the part number on their site to find
out if it is available.
