JD 4.219 diesel and gasser same block?

Hi folks,
I have a 401C with a 4.219 diesel in it. I may have an unrepairable crack in the block. Bummer. But - I've also got a 4.219 gasser engine sitting on a pallet. I have no idea if the gasser runs. My question is, are those 2 blocks the same, as in interchangeable? In other words, can I just strip the gasser and put the diesel parts and head in? I know I can remove the 4.219 diesel and install the gasser in its place. I was hoping to keep 'er diesel though. Thanks!

I think the diesel has balancer shafts which the gas engine would not have
...gas block may not accommodate the injection pump either. Can you do a
visual and compare?

So I did a bit of digging and as I expected the cranks are
different part numbers and I cant tell from the parts but I was
assuming it skips main bearings like most gas engines. And
then the other kicker I didnt expect is does it have spray jets
for the Pistons down at the bottom of the liner it appears that
is an option on either. So this block probably isnt a good one
to pick if there arent enough mains and if you want to check
pop the pan off them and count a diesel should have 5 I
expect your gas you will find 3

Thank you for looking into that! I guess if my diesel is cracked, I'll swap that gasser in. Much appreciated.
