Where do you guys buy complete carburetor rebuild kits. I'm looking at rebuilding the carb on my John Deere 2510. It's a Marvel Schebler tsx-905. I find the basic kit listed several places. I'm not finding the complete kit however.

I bought a Zenith clone off Amazon for under $40.
I also ordered a rebuild kit for my old zenith and it was not the right rebuild kit. I Sent it back. The clone works just fine.

I've also bought clone carbs for my back up generator. They work just fine too.

If you buy anything from Amazon, you can always send them back if they don't work.

Depends on what you mean by complete. Most kits are the basic with all you need to rebuild most of the time. Now if you need the float etc. that is a bit harder to come by. I buy my kits are O'Reilly's

The only kit I found is a universal Marvel tsx kit. It basically has a few seals and that's about it. They run between 20-30 dollars.

The kits O'Reilly's has have the gaskets and seals for the shafts and the float needle and seat and a few other parts. They last time I got one where around $25

Steiner carries the comprehensive carburetor kits for the TSX. If it isn't listed on their website give them a call. I just got one from them for one off an old Hercules industrial.

My vote is on McDonald Carb. Been very satisfied.
Often the auto store kits are for a wide range of carbs leaving you with a pile of parts you paid for but don't need.

Well how about that!! it is possible to get a working knock-off carburetor.

I have not done that with a tractor but I have done it with several small engine carburetors on mowers and generators. For the price of a rebuild kit you get a new carburetor. The one I put on my Cub Cadet is on its 3rd year of use without issue or leak. Couple of push mowers that had gummed up completely are now running fine too. Just be prepared to not have it work right out of the box - then don't mess with it - just send it back for another.

But then half the stuff from parts stores are the same. Just about pulled my hair out on the replacement alternator for my F250 - then the service shop I was about to send it to told me they had been getting bad alternators for the last year. The second one worked fine.

Auto Zone's lifetime alternators work for me.
The Zone stands behind their warranty.
I have 2 zone alternators, one on my Farmall and one on my Jubilee.
