Cleaning Radiator

Cleaning radiator on an 1850 Oliver, drained and filled with water and quart of vinegar, run and flushed several times with water. Do I need to neutralize the system before putting antifreeze back in? If it needs neutralized, what should I use? Thanks

When I use vinegar to clean a radiator I put 80-90% vinegar and finish with water. Use it in the field for an hour to get it hot...drain and flush with water. Re-fill with antifreeze and good to go.

The SHRUB KILLER gets used about every other week or so for about an hour Steve. it's been 3 years since I changed the coolant. I guess it would be a good idea to throw a 50/50 mix in her, after I do a vinegar flush.CM

Last run water. Vinegar is pretty tame we run cascade through the c15s in trucks when an oil cooler went bad. Dab of baking soda like they suggest if vinegar is slightly acidic that should be a slight base. Even if you did nothing it will probably be ok especially if its only one quart
