I had one. Fun little truck which competed with Ford's Econoline until 1964. After that the Big 3 brought out their versions of the front engine vans as we know them today.

I had a Volkswagen truck that did that.Not sure what year it was,but it had sliding windows in the doors.

I like it.
The dealer let my dad take the 3 seat van
version out for a demo on Sat afternoon
and return it Monday morning. The family
went to church Sunday morning then to Aunt
Kay and Uncle Ernie's for dinner that
afternoon.
We liked it.

You're right RR, a two-level pickup bed, the extra side gate might have seemed ingenious but when you think of it, they had no choice. One of the variety of VW Type 2's in diguise .....

I had a lot of Corvairs over the years. One rampside, that didn't run very well. My fave was a Corsa Spyder. Hot little car.
