Do you think this burr oak will heat my house?

For a week or two?

It was actually two trees growing together, each one was bigger across than the 36" bar on my CS8000. It has been dying for a few years now. It had just a few small leaves this year, so I figured I had better get it down before it got any more dangerous. Sure enough, it was rotten between the trunks. I am no kind of timberjack, so it was pretty nerve-racking. Lotta relief when it fell exactly as planned.

Yep, trees that big will make any smart
man take notice to what he doing when
felling. That big truck will be seriously
hard work to make into firewood but will
make a huge pile of it for sure. Live Oak
takes a year to completely dry down after
its cut and split but depending weather
and what your burning it in you may burn
some later this winter.

I would sure burn it in my shop heater this winter and even in the house heater if I run out of black locust.

Have a few to do, smaller than that. Good
luck. Congrats on your good cut.

Stihl plastic wedges are your friend when
bucking big chunks like those.

These two are pecan.
But the wind started the job before me!

(quoted from post at 21:14:42 10/07/23) will burr oak make heat? all i ever tried only heated me while i was working it up
Never burned burr oak but for optimum heat either white or red oak really needs 2 years, stacked & top covered, from the time it is split until ready to burn.
