Ford's latest problem

Meanwhile my 97 Toyota Corolla with 270,000 miles just keeps on going,2006 Tacoma with 116,000 run and drives like new.I do have a Ford F550,1999 model diesel that has been a good truck of course it has an IH engine.

Maybe Im reading it wrong, 709000 vehicles - 861 failures, etc. in 2/3 years isnt much of a problem compared to the numbers of GM issues with the AFM failures............Oh, they didnt use top tier fuel.................Oh uh, no.

Ford has had several engine problems that they sweep under the rug over the years ,ya remember the 351m-400's i sure do . the late F E blocks with pours block castings seeping oil out the sides of the blocks the exhaust manifold stud/ bolt problems with the 385 block engines . The nightmare with the first fuel injected 385 block engines , here again i do , the problems with the C 6 trans made after May 10 1975 here again i do , trucks and car rusting out in under a year here again i do .

It is all moot, anyways.

With the coming government mandates, the 3 domestic manufacturers are going to go bankrupt anyways. Then there won't be any money to pay the help with anyways.

I have owned 4 eco-boost f150 over half million miles so far not one engine problem. Usually go anywhere from 45 to 65 thousand a year . I may just be the luck one but the performance is unbelievable with that engine. Running along interstate at 65 and need to pass something the 60 to 80 mph acceleration is just unbelievable.

So if they want an engine that works hey should look at the old Chrysler V-8's or the Old diesels of most any manufacturer, and for get about light cheap junk like the puke a boost. There's no replacement for displacement if you really want to pull something and not have problems. IF they don't think being paid more than most other employees in the country then they need to learn what the rest of the public works for and lives on.

If Ford would just replace the 861 engines and not argue with the customers about it and own-up to the problem, then we wouldn't be talking about this right now. It certainly wouldn't hurt their bottom line and would increase customer goodwill.

their was a time and a place for the unions but not so much any more and besides most of the trades or pride in a trade is almost gone , if my guys only want to work 4 days a week thats all they will get paid for . my guys dont get top dollar but they do allright but i am not rolling in the dough either
