Idler pulley on JD mower

The drive belt was cracked and worn out it wore the middle if the V pulley until the side of the pulley fell off.

Do you think my friend got his money's worth out of the drive belt and pulley?

No he needs to find the side and weld it back on and go some more.

He may just need to turn the belt over so it runs against the remaining side.

What do I use to fill in the cracks in the v belt? Can I use the same crack fuller people want to use to fill the cracks in tractor tires?lol

I don't see a downside. If none handy, toothpaste would work as well.
