Free Stakes again

I had a real nice telephone chat with tallgerman yesterday afternoon, once we both were on the pone at the same time.....The classic phone tag game.... Negotiations are underway, meaning that Gregg is looking at ways to get the stakes from his home to mine.... Although it is only 8 or so hours from my house, I am not up to a road trip right now.....

Therein lies the rub with such things. It would cost me over $200 in fuel just to drive back and forth, not to mention being on the road for a solid day... for some tent stakes...

Even packing them up and shipping them is going to cost multiple times what they're worth. Plus the packing materials. Plus his time to pack them up and take them wherever he's going to ship them from...

It would be less costly to buy new steel at the steel yard if you need tent stakes.

I'd like to know how free stakes come to be free stakes without first being MIA (missing in action) from someplace????

Welp depends on HOW many steaks we are talking here . There have been times i have driver 12 hour round trips just to end up with two hot dogs and pepsi

Pack them in dry ice and send. Box must be insulated. IF food steaks if just tent stakes then just cut some old steel fence posts cheaper than shipping them.

Funny you should mention that. There's a guy on another forum I belong to who always says that if we're ever in his area, to look him up. He always says, "the hot dogs and cold Pepsi are on me!"

Why would you pack half a dozen Ford Model T axles in dry ice?

I think somebody is playing word games here with the stakes / steaks thing.

It all depends on what you want. I wanted to interact with a fellow tractor fan. I learned a few things about how other people celebrate our agricultural past.
And tallgerman learned a little about how we celebrate our agricultural past...
I also learned about how some people have to poke fun where fun does not need poked.
