Gas settlement bowl leaking from top going into gas tank, applied gas pipe dope no luck, been reading in forum about cork washer or gasket have not seen or found it, settlement bowls is just a few months old any ideas thanks.

Some armchair diagnosis. Several possibilities here. The cork or rubber gasket you mention is between the glass bowl and its base. From your post it doesn't sound like that is where your leak is. If it is leaking there, it is usually caused by a bad gasket or, if the gasket is good, by the base being distorted from over tightening the bowl clamp. It is easy to over tighten on the cheap replacement sediment bowls available today. If your leak is where the base threads into the tank, your pipe dope should have sealed that if it is properly threaded into the tank. It is possible that the pipe has a crack in it or the bung into the tank may have split causing it to leak. Another possibility is that the tank has developed pin holes in the sump from rust in the tank. One other possibility is if the assembly has a gas shutoff valve, it can leak from there. Many will have a packing nut there to tighten to keep it from leaking around the stem of the valve.

I purchased a replacement globe valve assembly. It doesnt tighten at the exact correct direction the flue
line is at, so I have to goop a bunch of pipe dope on, but it does seal. I just did it the other day again.
