1st time back since emotional post.

Sorry fellas. just reading how another was struggling and how much support I felt when reading his responses just broke me down. I cant thank you all for the support and prayers. I am a true believer of God only gives what you can handle. Just sometimes I am weary and cant see the purpose. One asked how I got into tractors. It started as soon as I could make it to the 3 sided tractor shed on my grandpas dairy. There was a 47 j.d. A with a mounted corn picker in the building. The clutch had went out of the tractor. Not an easy fix for a 60 yr old farmer milking 80 cows and farming 150 plus acre. There where alot of government interference at the time that made farmers struggle. My dad and brothers had to work out to keep bills paid working on the farm with every free moment. Grandpa always told neighbors I put more hours on that tractor while it was sitting in the shed than he did in its time in the real fields. Said if adults lost track of me during the day step out side and listen. You would here me making that wonderful 2 cylinder sound. As an adult I married late at 37. Wife got me and a 41 allis wc,44 farmall H with a duall loader and a 50 j.d.B. I have sold the allis and j.d. to pay medical for the wife. She always felt guilty. I always responded I would do it a million times to keep her with me. Noyw I am trying to find a more user friendly tractor for plowing snow. with the shoulder It is hard to get on the H and stearing with that old loader hanging off the front makes me ache. Now you all no me better, even if you didnt want to. This will be my last post for awhile I am getting busy getting house ready for a nap. Last minute appt. But wanted to say thanks for the emotional boost. Best to all. Hope to post follow ups. Bless you.

Thanks for the update, Mike. I hope you find the tractor you need and are able to do the work without the pain.

Butch

A word of encouragement - I am two weeks into recovery of a shoulder replacement. I am very happy with how my shoulder is doing and expect a good outcome. I pray the same for you. I had many Debby Downers tell me to expect the worst. I always think a positive attitude is your best ally in recovering from life's difficulties. May your faith sustain you to look forward to better days ahead.

been there twice lots of praying helps and include other people. there are others lot worse then you.
our local Lions club is going to do fund raiser for lady with 6 kids under 6 years old she is going to need lots of prayers and help in many ways.

Hey Mike. My apologies for not seeing this post earlier. If it's not too late, I would like to make a recommendation on a snow-plowing machine for you.

I used to have a JD 4010gas with a heavy duty FEL, 3-pt backhoe and a JD snow blower. The snow blower did not do what I wanted, so ended up selling it. Eventually sold the tractor also. I used that money to buy a 2001 RAM 1500 4x4. I then found for sale a Western poly snow plow off of a RAM 2500. Sadly the two connections did not match, so bought connecting mounts for my RAM 1500. As I wasn't planning on using it on the road, I did not worry about hooking up the plow controls any more than what I needed to use it on the homestead. And I tell you what Mike, I will never go back to a tractor! I'm out of the wind, out of the cold (which in NW Minnesnowta can get into the -40's at night and -30's in the daytime), truck has 4wd (unlike the JD 4010), power steering, comfortable seat, excellent heat, mirrors, etc, etc, etc... I have been using that plow rig for maybe 10 years now and I have FAR recouped my investment. The truck gets done in a fraction of the time of the tractor, and uses a fraction of the fuel. It has also been far easier for handling my snow needs. So if it's not too late, this might be something for you to consider. God bless. Keith
