1010/2010 engine swap

Just put a 145 gas engine from a 45 combine on a JD 1010 tractor. Rus pretty good. I put the manifold and carburetor from the 1010 115
engine on the 145. Part book numbers are different for the heads. Carburetors are different. Will it be absolutely necessary to put a 145
tractor manifold and carburetor on this engine. The carburetor linkage on the 1010 is between the carburetor and block and the air intake
runs to the back where on the 2010 it appears to be reversed with linkage on the outside and air intake to the front. Thoughts please.
Thanks

Years ago our JD mechanic did that and I don't know if he had to do any changes like that. I have found out the only changes on the engines were the deck plate and pistons and rings and the 165 engine from the combine would also bolt up.

Can you combine carbs and put the throttle shaft in the othervway moving linkages back to between carb and block?

Thanks for the reply. For now I think I will use the 1010 manifold and carburetor and see what happens. It is not going to be used a bunch anyway.
