Todays Survey Says: was, Favorite way back when tractor chore?.
Mine was actually rotary hoeing, but that wasn't an option so I chose Secondary Tillage,
which I assume was the closest choice. That's one chore that a guy can let the old tractor
lay his ears back and go and you see a lot of progress fast, a big deal to a 10, 12-year-old
kid. Any thoughts on the subject? :) gm

I wasn't raised on a farm, but I was/am a country boy.

We had a Pasquali 986 and a Ferguson TO-30. I used both tractors for mowing pastures in SE Texas. Loved every minute of it!!

I always enjoyed plowing with a moldboard plow.

Not too much skill required, you could just sit there and watch the world go by.

Nothing better than fall plowing. The smell of the fresh soil being turned over in the cool crisp air. Plus you actually could see what you had accomplished that day. Tom in Mn

I guess my favorite was also hauling loads of ear corn and running them into the corn crib.
Did a lot of other jobs too--cutting and raking hay, driving the baler, moldboard plowing, plus a few other tasks.

Not too much skill required when moldboard plowing ? Bwahahahahaha.

That would explain the look of some of the furrows at Rantoul. ;)

Chisel plowing much easier than moldboard but for true enjoyment it

was tough to beat picking rock with a tow behind picker. Mindless labor

being defeated by an implement and operator skill.

Moldboard plowing. You could toe in the front wheel in the furrow, so it was kind of pre-GPS auto-steer. Like others have said, out of nowhere, the seagulls appeared. I enjoyed watching them. Especially the day that I had a front row seat watching 2 of them having a mid air collision. LOL. They recovered before crashing to the ground.

Our tractors had tracks and we skidded logs on some pretty challenging mountain terrain. We worked but enjoyed it some days. Too hot and too cold it wasn't much fun. Lol

mold plowing, mowing, raking, baling hay ( Tall Kid didn't like baling hay very much) cleanig barn good feeling knowing cows had a clean barn with new straw.
Plowing with 730 diesel now i wonder why my ears ring straight pipe maybe?

Plowing. Ron MN

I always liked to pull a set of 3 rollers in the rice fields after planting. You could get in a higher gear and get a lot done in a day
