How do i remove the peice that the hand crank engages with so i can remove the frount bolster. I have looked and dont see a pin or anything but i may have over looked it. And does anyone know of/have for sale some splitting stands for this tractor or should i just ask my granddad to help fab some.
Thanks nate

The hand crank tractor components come off with the bolster, they are not attached to the frame rails or the engine. There is going to be heavy shipping costs associated with the transportation of splitting stands that are stout enough to be safe and adjustable enough to be friendly to use. Making them from a good example is best, but I have the skill. Talk it out with him and look at good designs. Jim

Jim is right the shipping cost would be pretty prohitive for them. they can be made pretty easily with regular materials found close by. IF you have a forklift of sufficient size you could just bolt a couple tubes to the frame rails to hold the front half. Block the back half, and back the front away from the rear. That is what I did foe our 1466 when we had the rearend all apart on it saved room and could just set the front half out in a shed till done then bring back to assemble.
