une up parts are very likely all the same for those 1952 6 cyl engines.

post a pic of that engine. i can recognise stuff by the picture. and if the engine has been changed out better reason yet. most had that 235 cid.

and take all the used stuff with u then go shopping for points and plugs they can narrow it down by years also. plus a distributor make and model will help.

If you have 3 screws above the spark plugs and below the valve cover that hold the top edge of a tin plate on the side of the engine you have a 216. If the spark plugs screws into the head and not through a tin plate, you have a 235 or 261. And as JMOR said all of the tuneup stuff will likely be the same no matter what 6 cylinder is in it. Unfortunately, for you the 1953 ..stove bolt.. got quite a few improvements like fully pressurized oil to the bearings. The 52 and earlier engines pumped oil into troughs under the rods that ..dipper.. cups on the bottom of the rod spun through to pick up the lube oil for the rod bearings.

THe 216 cid were replaced with the 235 cid, beacuse
the were cheap and thousands were in the scrape yards
in the 1960s.I believe the points were the same .

#1112363 might be distributor #. See what number you have and I should be able to find correct points # for that dist.

As others said, a pic is really needed. Actually several. Block Area above starter, if there are two bars cast there it's a 261. Full tin cover on the left 216. Rt side oil filter pic can also ID a late 261 with full flow filter. That era truck and engine are so similar 49-62 it's hard to tell what may have been swapped in. Oh, pic of water pump too, they're 3 or so different types that can help id.
