Hey guys, I am looking at two 1964 Massey Ferguson 50 gas
tractors, neither are currently running. One tractor the clutch is
out, the other one supposedly runs but hasnt been started in
awhile and had limited power when it ran. They come with a
manual type loader. Just wondering what would be a good price
for these? Are these good tractor, worth buying and fixing?

I would not pay over a $1000 for those not being able to check out all the functions if they do not run and drive. If the one with limited power needs engine work those Continentals are on the more expensive side when overhauling. In your definition is a ..manual type.. loader a trip bucket?
 
I just went and looked at them, they both turn over. One the drive clutch is out and three point hitch didnt raise. Other one needs fresh gas to start, has low power. Yeah a trip bucket. He is asking $2500 for them
 
Back when I was still farming I would have liked to have those tractors But I was more familuar with the Ferguson F40 version that is same as the MF 50 except sheet metal and paint but I wanted the High verison with the 38 inch rear wheels amd definatly with remote hydrolicks. Neighbors had multi of the Ferguson versions as we had a good Ferguson dealer and no MF dealers.
 
If neither of them run and move under their own power scrap price is all they are worth. IF they run then maybe a wee bit more and if they will move under their own power a wee bit more than that. Certainly not 2500.00 My opinion and worth every cent you paid for it.
 
I was at an auction on Saturday past and there where two Massey Ferguson 50 tractors at the sale. One sold for 2700 Canadian and the other one sold for 950 Canadian. Both ran but I considered them rough condition. I had a chance to buy them before the sale but I already have one only its a Massey Harris version. The fellow who paid 2700 is maybe going to be my best friend because I have several old tractors Id love to get that much for.
