The wife and I took off for a few days for our anniversary this week. The first thing we did was to go and float in sensory deprivation float pods. That was quite an experience. There's 1000 pounds of Epsom salt in body temperature water so you can't sink. You take a shower then get right in with no clothes on, close the lid and turn off the light. It's cave black and totally silent in there. All you can hear is your own heart beat and breathing. The picture on the website shows somebody floating in a bathing suit, but they told us not to wear anything, said it would weigh us down. You get your own room and your own pod.
I expected to feel like I weighed 500 pounds when I got out after being in water for an hour, like you do it you stay in a pool of hot tub too long, but it wasn't that way at all. Every muscle and joint was totally relaxed and I felt light as a feather.
I did prove one thing to myself. That two tone hum that I hear all the time is real and not in my head. I couldn't hear it at all when I was in there, so there's something real that I'm hearing.
