My Parade Tractor

Last year at the big tractor show SWMBO requested a parade tractor with a buddy seat. I found this B as a rolling chassis on three wheels in Eastern Washington. Months of work later here is the result. I fabricated the seat using the arms from a waiting room chair and the rest of the frame from a bus seat. It is still a work in progress. I plan on coupling the steering wheels and pedals so it will have dual controls. It got lots of comments at the show.

Yes, I have seen mailmans cars use bicycle sprockets and chain to link two steering wheels together. Worked for years.

If you look closely there are chain sprockets on the steering shafts already. It needs an idler for the chain but I ran out of time to fabricate one. As it was, the paint was still green when I hauled it up to the show.

I'm not sure I would connect the wheels and other controls. Then not only will your passenger be a 'back seat driver' but can actually take over when you least expect it.
