If the diagnosis that was given you in the other post is correct and it sounds very possible you will have to remove the cable off the solenoid that goes to the starter. Then you can connect your battery without the engine cranking. When ever you want to start the tractor FIRST IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to make sure that tractor is in neutral. Then grab the disconnected cable and firmly hold it to the terminal from the battery on the solenoid. There will be a little sparking but it should start the tractor. It may be wise to wear a leather glove when you do this. I will add to farther diagnose your issue, you should disconnect the small wire from your solenoid to see if that stops the starter from cranking when the battery is connected. If it does stop it it means the problem is in the starter button or its wiring.
