Do I have a defective battery?

Got a new 6 volt battery for one of my tractors about a month ago and everything was working fine until today. Tractor started and ran fine, but amp gauge was pegged at max charge even after 30 min of use. It does have a 6 volt alternator not a generator. I thought I had an alt problem so I swapped the battery out of another tractor and it worked like normal. So I tried 'new' battery in the other one, same issue. Checked and load tested battery, just over 6v no load and just over 5v on load test. Put it on charger, kept cycling on and off every few min and showed it was charging hard as if it were near dead. Think I'm going to take it back to the store for an exchnge, something isn't right with it.

Thats what I would do...If a person were to perform voltage, load, hydrometer and other checks it may help diagnose the problem, but the way its acting I agree with you TAKE IT BACK let them deal with it.

Brother got a bad one in the pair he bought for his dually. Possibility is there. Wheres the bachelor party going to be?

The bachelor party will be Monday and Tuesday both! It will be at the sawmill shed, we will be cleaning it up and getting it ready. For some reason not many are coming for that! Lol
