I am rebuilding a carb on a 1947 farmall m.I am having a problem finding a rebuild kit that has both the carb number 50983 db and the throttle body Number 6514A.there are kits for the carb 50983 but none have this throttle body listed.any ideas or help is appreciated.

So your REBUILDING a M carb. What you really mean is your putting in a needle and seat and a couple gskt's . Go to T S C and pick up a kit for a M-450 . 98% of the time that is all ya need .

..and in my opinion, the thorough cleaning is as or more important than the new parts.

Be uber-carful if you have to adjust the float - if my memory serves be correctly, the carbs in the M's & W6's had very little clearance between the float pontoons and the sides of the bowl - if it's bent just a tiny bit out of whack it will scrub along the sides and sometimes stickup/down, causing erratic carb
behavior.

The cleaning is definitely as important. Found that out the hard way.

Replace as little as possible. Or maybe
nothing other than the gasket, and maybe
inlet filter. You'll likely have more
headaches with what you replace with, than
what you take out.

Lot of parts in a kit. Only use out of the
kit what you must.

Cleaning, filter, gasket, cures most
problems. And I'm talking the factory carb
inlet filter. Adding an in-line filter is
also a mistake. Don't need one. Adding one
only adds another headache.
