My grandpa bought this tractor in 1949. I think we have had it rebuilt 3 times over the years. I used it today to prepare the seed bed for one of my food plots.

By the pix it looks like its got a side mount distributor, the side mt. did not come out till 50-1/2. The early side mt did not use a proof meter either.

That is very possible. The owners manual
has my grandpas hand writing of 1949 on
the cover so that is what I have always
went by. Knowing him he was half way thru
a bottle of booze when he wrote the date.

I agree with what Hobo said. Is it possible the engine was replaced with a newer one at some point? Do you know the serial number? The 8N used the engine serial number as the tractor serial number. I lifted the diagram from tractordata.
