Hello I'm new to the site and am wanting some information on installing a 359 in my 4030. From what I've read it should be an easy swap from the 329 to the 359 engine but all the engines I've found have the starter on the right where mine is on the left. Is the starter location dependent on the adapter plate on the transmission and will therefore work in the left side location. Thanks for any help on the subject.

Hello is the 359 from a combine ?? I know of poeple that have done and were not real happy , The injection pumps are different , either idel
or wide open on a combine no mid speed , cams are different , front timeing covers are different I believe , depends what you are going to
use it for , My 2 cents Bryan

You have to swap the rear engine plate, as it is specific to the 4030. It will bolt on to any other 300 series or more modern engine.
You need a new gasket, plus change the rear main seal.

Does the cab have to be removed to swap the engine?

No need to remove the cab to change the motor.

According to parts # research 329 flywheel part # AR63897 is only listed to fit 329 in a model 4030. Flywheel(RE23945) for model 4050 tractor with 359 cid engine might be an option if your flywheel won't fit.
