Dad would talk about a cousin that had a Star automobile. The gas tank had a hole in it and he had rigged with a can that only held about two quarts. He said they were constantly having to stop and fill it. He always laughed when he told it. That and sneaking gas out of the farm tank to ride around.

I remember when I was young a neighbor talked about the Star car. He said the company would demonstrate how the car frame would be rigid when taking one wheel off. Said it set up and not go to the ground. Dont remember if he said they drove on three wheels. Surely not. Lol
At the time I had found a small Star hub cap and the older neighbor told about seeing the car. Dont know what ever happened to the hub cap.

I have a Durant 4, built in the Elizabeth, NJ factory. It looks much
like the Star in the picture.

Most people don't know the story of how Durant started out as a buggy
maker, and founded General Motors. He was a big investor, but ended
up broke, basically. The first car that became the basis for GM was
the Buick.

He hired Walter Chrysler, Charles Nash, and other pioneer car builders.
He once tried to buy out Ford, but Henry wouldn't take stock, only cash.

Durant also merged Samson tractor company into GM.
