Chainsaw Sharpener

Does anyone have a Timber Tuff chainsaw sharpener? I was just wondering how many chains can be sharpened before the grinding wheel is worn out?

I have this sharpener, can't tell how many chains a wheel will sharpen but a wheel last me about 2 years. This is a good and reliable machine . My last one I had for over 20 years before I gave it to my nephew and replaced with this one.

I just bought a grinding wheel at harbor freight for their chain saw sharpener and put it on my bench grinder. I don't expect to ever wear it out.

I feel like I can get a longer chain life using a dremel tool and a diamond burr.

I gave my belsaw sharpener to a friend.

Yup. That's how forums work. Get used to it.

Realistically, I don't think there IS an answer to your question. Everyone sharpens chains differently. Length and condition of the chain will affect the life of the wheel dramatically.

The best you're going to get is "about two years" from the guy that has one.

I have one and have had it for quite some time. Still using original wheel but to qualify that I don't use it everyday. There is a learning curve. I have numerous saws and use it only when a chain gets really bad or bored looking for something to do. Touch up the chains with a file mostly. It has paid for itself though. I know not much help.
