Ford 5900 Hydraulic Remote availability

I recently bought a low hours Ford 5900 but it does not have a hydraulic remote / spool valve. I'm having a tough time finding one. Apparently the Ford 5900 aftermarket spool valve is uncommon/unavailable. I even called a dealer willing to pay OEM prices but was told the OEM valve was discontinued. Any help on the subject would be appreciated!

You might check with a good Hydraulic shop. They could probably
figure out something for you. Do you know where the valve would be
placed/hooked up? that's usually half the battle.

Doesn't surprise me. The 5900 was last manufactured 40 years ago.

Your best bet is to find a parts tractor at a salvage yard to get the remotes from. Other models may fit, as Ford like to use the same design for a very very long time. In fact they're still using some aspects of tractors from the 80's in current production models.

Another possibility may be a generic remote valve and hoses, if you can determine where to plumb it in without disrupting the other hydraulic systems on the tractor.

We put a plug in body and ran a generic valve for bat wing shredders. Have to go dig thru my service bulletins to see how was done but have noway to post pic on here.

According to tractordata, the 5900 is a straddle mount tractor with an open center hydraulic system. Is there some reason that a remote valve from any X000 or X600 utility model won't work?

The 5900 is essentially a 10 series tractor. What I see in the parts book suggests it has the same priority valve pack as the
10's. So... you need a closed center load sensing valve. There's lots of options out there, all of them expensive. The first
thing to check is that the priority valve pack actually has the combining/sequencing spool in the left side bore of the pack. If
it has that you can add the CCLS valve and plumb the load sense line to the left side on the combining valve and the supply line
to the rear of the pack, then the return line goes into the sump at the lift cover...
The easiest solution may be a used valve bank... basically any modern row crop tractor bank will work IF it's ccls. Also lots of
stuff out there on forestry/industrial and plow trucks that use Rexroth MP15/18/22 banks. You just need to watch the inlet
porting.
Prince may also have a cheap solution if you can find the correct inlet and outlet sections.

Thanks, I've placed an order with crosscreektractors. They claim it'll work for me - I sent pictures and a video so they could check. If it works - great! If not, I would like to talk to you more about this. I'm to the point of giving up on the remote and just use the tractor to bushhog - no wings.

I'm going to try and post pictures of what I have on my 5900...
