I cleaned off the milled surface on the block just above the mag and don't see any numbers. Is this were the serial number is supposed to be?

I believe that if there is no serial number in that location then the block was likely replaced at som point. What are the casting codes on the block and the rest of the tractor?

I've never seen one without a number stamp there, even replacement engines. Actually I have seen one with no number but you could see that it had been crudely ground off. I suspect it was stolen as the serial tag was torn off.

My thoughts on the number missing on
block.... Someone in the last 75+ years
got over aggressive with a grinder trying
to clean it up for paint. I bought a B
once that the casting code plates were
gone?? Davebn..... I think you saw that
one at my place?
