Injector pump woes diesel tech others

Well we might get some hay weather sometime in July..started the JD1530 up. Sounded fine but started to leak at the inspection cover
(Plate with two bolts and mechanics wire) at an idle, solid stream at full throttle. :<

Any chance that is just a gasket I can replace or is it time to take it to a injector rebuilder

If that's the timing window cover on the side of the pump housing itself, you can do no harm by replacing the gasket. They are readily available, and easy enough to change. Two screws, remove and replace gasket, no surprises. If that doesn't stop the leak then consider other possibilities and options.

Yes, I believe it is the timing cover

fyi....replaced it on another tractor, and it continued to leak.. found out the return line was blocked.
